Southern Pine lumber has been a favorite since colonial times and remains a top choice for today’s design and build professionals. It is high-quality, with excellent structural integrity, and consists of four main species. Its design values are comparable to other wood species commonly used in residential and commercial construction. No. 1 grade lumber has a fine appearance, making it ideal for exposed uses, while its strength makes it suitable for almost all types of heavy construction. The wood is kiln-dried to a moisture content of 12% or lower. The #1 grade allows knots and wane but features fewer and smaller knots compared to the #2 grade. By incorporating handcrafted beams into modern construction, they transform your space by blending warm charm with modern design. Box beams come in a variety of color choices and styles, along with various custom size combinations to fit any design plan. The beauty of wood beams can change the look of any room, be it bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms, family rooms, or even bathrooms. Planed and sanded, box beams are available as-is, with one of our standard stains, or with a custom stain to match your style.
Our box beams are expertly crafted right here in the USA, at our Louisiana shop. We've refined our design and technique to create the perfect faux beam. The wood is made from real pine, kiln-dried, and virtually indistinguishable from traditional beams, but weighs much less, and is much easier to install than solid beams. There is no preparation. They come ready to go. They can be installed using mounting blocks on the ceiling and do not require additional structural support. Once in place, our box beams will look indistinguishable from solid wood beams.

Due to the significant variation in color display across different monitors, we strongly advise reviewing a sample before placing an order.
The provided dimensions represent the external measurements of the product. The material thickness is roughly 1 inch, with a possible variation of +/- ¼ inch.
Our products are handcrafted. Please account for a minimum tolerance of ½ inch when intending to cover existing materials.
Beams exceeding 22 feet in length will be produced as a single unit and then bisected for shipping purposes.
Shipping
Pick up locally or let us ship it to you. The cost of national shipping usually ranges from $300 to $1000, depending on the distance and size of product. Beams that are 22 feet or longer will be manufactured as a single beam then cut in half for shipping.
Notes
As raw wood is used in its natural form, the item shown in the picture will slightly vary from the one purchased. This is natural wood and finished with a clear, matte coating. It provides a protective layer that makes the table scratch resistant and easy to clean. Each piece is uniquely created and one of a kind. Cypress retains moisture in pockets, which can cause the wood to crack and split. Unlike other companies, Southern Wood uses a state-of-the-art vacuum kiln to dry wood and prevent this from happening. Every slab is kiln dried to 10-12% moisture content in our iDry vacuum kiln. Each table has its own distinct color variations and characteristics. Woods of the same species may vary in color, grain pattern, and texture. All wood slabs are typically cut at 2 ⅛” and finish out between 1 ½” to 1 ⅝” unless otherwise noted. Natural wood may display small splits, knots, or other organic features unique to each piece. This is a real wood table, and it will react to water, humidity, and heat as well. All pictured beams are finished with a matte sheen, although additional sheens are available.
