The circular saw was invented in the late 1700s, during the early days of the industrial revolution. As band saws were later improved, many traditional circular sawmills transitioned to band saws or hybrid methods to boost efficiency and reduce sawdust. Today, circular sawmills are rare in the U.S., making the unique texture of circle-sawn wood all the more special. Circle sawn beams are incredibly versatile and work well with a variety of home styles. Circle sawn products add depth and character to a mountain modern estate, while others create a sleek yet intriguing design for contemporary homes. Contrary to popular belief, circle sawn material can be used in almost any application. Its rough texture doesn’t limit it to rough projects!

Highlighting the beautiful grain of Cypress, they are available as-is, with one of our standard finishes, or with a custom stain to match your design. Box beams come in a variety of color choices and styles, along with various custom size combinations to fit any design plan. The beauty of cypress beams can elevate the aesthetic of any room, be it bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms, family rooms, or even bathrooms.
Priced per linear foot. Cypress beams are cut to order. Lead times vary from 4-8 weeks, depending on the availability of the size logs needed to cut what you are looking for.

Due to the significant variation in color display across different monitors, we strongly advise reviewing a sample before placing an order.
The provided dimensions represent the external measurements of the product. The material thickness is approximately 1” thick, with a possible variation of +/- ¼ inch.
Our products are handcrafted. Please account for a minimum tolerance of ½ inch when intending to cover existing materials.
Beams exceeding 22 feet in length will be produced as a single unit and then bisected for shipping purposes.
Outer Dimension Variance: Outer dimensions can vary +/- ¼”. Products are hand fabricated, please allow a tolerance.

Pick up locally or let us ship it to you. The cost of national shipping usually ranges from $300 to $1000, depending on the distance and size of product. Beams that are 22 feet or longer will be manufactured as a single beam then cut in half for shipping.
Notes
As raw wood is used in its natural form, the beams shown in the picture will slightly vary from the one purchased. This is natural wood and finished with a clear, matte coating. It provides a protective layer that makes the wood scratch resistant and easy to clean. Each piece is uniquely created and one of a kind. Cypress retains moisture in pockets, which can cause the wood to crack and split. Unlike other companies, Southern Wood uses a state-of-the-art vacuum iDry kiln to dry wood and prevent this from happening. Every slab is kiln dried to 10-12% moisture content in our iDry vacuum kiln. Each beam has its own distinct color variations and characteristics. Woods of the same species may vary in color, grain pattern, and texture. Natural wood may display small splits, knots, or other organic features unique to each piece. This is a real wood beam, and it will react to water, humidity, and heat as well. All pictured beams are finished with a matte sheen, although additional sheens are available.
